How are my donations used?

Every donation made through Donate Jamaica goes directly toward the campaign or charity you choose to support. Whether it’s helping a family rebuild after a disaster, supporting medical bills, or funding community programs, your contribution makes a direct impact where it’s needed most.

Yes! Donate Jamaica allows you to browse active campaigns and select the exact project or cause you want to support. From personal fundraisers to verified charity initiatives, you’re in full control of where your money goes. 

Absolutely! We take data protection and payment security seriously. All transactions on our platform are processed through trusted and encrypted payment gateways to ensure your personal and financial information remains safe at all times.

Donations made to a Donate Jamaica campaign are generally considered to be personal gifts and aren’t generally guaranteed to be tax-deductible. However, you can always check with a tax professional to be sure.

Once you’ve donated, you can log in to your Donate Jamaica donor account at any time to see updates, track campaign progress, and monitor the impact your support is making.

To help maintain and improve the platform, Donate Jamaica charges a transaction fee on each donation. This helps cover payment processing, security, and platform operations, allowing us to keep the site running smoothly and securely.

Transaction fees are deducted automatically from donations; the person receiving funds will receive all funds raised minus these transaction fees. The transaction fee covers the costs of credit, debit, and ACH charges, safely delivering donations, and helps us offer more ways to donate—through credit, debit, ACH, PayPal, and Venmo.

Fee example: If a donor makes a $50 donation, the individual receiving funds will receive $48.25 once transaction fees (2.9% + $0.30) are deducted. 

Yes, you can choose to make your donation anonymous during checkout. The campaign owner will still receive your contribution, but your name won’t appear publicly on the campaign page.
